What to Expect

There’s already enough to think about when visiting a church for the first time, so to answer some common questions you might have, here’s what you can expect when attending a service at Liberty Church in Downtown Brooklyn .
A Warm Welcome

We can’t wait to meet you! Our Team is here to serve you and answer any questions you may have. From our greeters you’ll meet as you enter, to our Liberty Kids Team who are excited to help your children feel safe comfortable in a new space, we’re here for you and your family.

Great Music

Our worship service begins with engaging music led by our band. The lyrics are displayed on TVs and everyone is encouraged to sing along. But you don’t have to.

Corporate singing has long been a significant shared experience for faith communities. It is unifying when a diverse collection of people come together to say the same things about God. It’s also personal. Individual experiences and expressions of worship vary. We invite you to participate as you feel comfortable. It’s an opportunity for you to set aside other concerns and give God your attention.

An Encouraging Message

Each Sunday, our Teaching Team presents an encouraging and inspiring message. We strive to relate ancient Biblical truths to present real-life issues so that you can understand how God’s word applies to you.

Jesus is central in every message. We believe that Jesus came to lead every human into a God-connected life. We want to help you connect with the personal hope and practical help that Jesus offers.

Safe and Fun Children's Services

We know that parents need be sure their children are in a safe learning environment – and we know that children are looking for a place to make friends and have fun. We’re invested in both of these goals!

We offer safe and fun children’s programs for kids under 10. At Liberty Kids, children get to celebrate life and learn more about God through interactive Bible lessons, videos, crafts, and games.

Our screened and qualified children’s workers are excited to serve you and your kids.

Covid - 19 Policies

Now that our national and state authorities have largely lifted covid restrictions for gatherings, we too have made adjustments to our policies while still maintaining a safe space for all:

  • Face-coverings are welcome but no longer required for fully-vaccinated guests. (If you have not been vaccinated, please use caution and consideration.)
  • Registration is required. We currently use check-in process to help you stay informed about what’s going on in our Brooklyn  community. (Your information is always protected and never shared.)
  • In addition to physical paper materials, we also have contactless QR codes available.
  • Coffee and water is available!

As always, if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to anyone who was ill, we welcome you to enjoy our services online.

How should I dress?

When you enter Liberty Church, you’ll see some people ‘dressed to impress’ alongside others ‘clothed for comfort.’

We recognize that there are different schools of thoughts about this. Some would say, “I should dress my best for God” while others would say, “I focus on God best when I’m comfortable.” Both perspectives are valid. We make no issue of external things like clothing or piercings or tattoos or the like. We believe that what’s going on within the inside a person is what matters.

Come as you are and that’ll be just great!

If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to ask.

We'd love to help.
